Shibari/kinbaku art - 10-28-2009, 12:13 AM

Are there any members inspired by or producing work depicting kinbaku (Japanese rope bondage)? We are seeking contributors, in any medium, for the 2nd London Festival of the Art of Japanese Bondage 30 Apr- 3 May. We are also interested from hearing from anyone who has anything else that would add to the event, e.g. presenters on Japanese culture, musicians, restauranteurs.

The objective of the Festival is to present kinbaku (aka shibari/Japanese rope bondage) as an artistic inspiration, a performance art in its own right and as a means of erotic communication, whilst sharing knowledge about it and its cultural context.

Next year's contributions will include photography, ceramics, installation art and dance. Here is a YouTube video of an aerial rope ballet by Simona Martini and I, which will be the basis of one of the performances.
