I'm planning a trip to Japan in 2010, and I was wondering how easy/expensive it is to take a boat/ferry to Okinawa and stay there for 3-4 days.
I used to go to school with an exchange student who lives in Okinawa, and she offered to show me the sights.
Would it be terribly difficult to spend 20 days mainland Japan, and then go to Okinawa for a few? It's a beautiful place, I'd hate to not see such a unique part of Japan, especially when I have a friend there
Anyone have any experience? From what I've gathered, most Japanese have never been to Okinawa.
