It is certainly a skiers paradise and there's lots of hot springs but of course it is so much more. We have a bit of a saying at the ski resort I work at, most of us came here for the snow but most of us end up living here for the summer. Hokkaido in summer is amazing. So much more to do than in winter and the weather is nowhere near as hot and humid as down south and we don't really get a rainy season. Magnificent mountains, forests, lakes, rivers, coastline and beaches. A beautiful place to visit and to live. The autumn is also great and probably my favourite time of year with the forests turning incredible colours and the peaks of the mountains getting their first snow.
