This was the one thing that kept me from just saying "It's absolutely not Japanese."
My mind was weighing "the date is written Japaneseish" and "I can't make heads or tails of
any of this" and "probably not Japanese" won out. :/
At least I couldn't recognize it because it's a special kind of old Japanese.
