Can't believe you forgot Elfen Lied...xD Though the storyline really trumped the action if you gave it a chance u_u. Also, Hellsing, and for movies, Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal and Akira =P

You have to watch the Ninja Scroll movie. Lots of violence and a really decent plot.

I was going to mention Ninja Scroll, Hellsing, and Elfen Lied, and Akira but I guess I was already beat there...

lets see...also Ninja Resrection, Basalisk, Speed Grapher, Berserk, Gantz, Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Ghost in the Shell, Apple Seed, Afro Samurai, Nightwalker, X (aka X/1999), Devil May Cry, Blame!, Le Chevaliar Deon, Cowboy Bebop, Fist of the North Star, Claymore...

...just to name a few.
