As french, I've seen so much japanese anime since childhood and beginning of the 80s.

But if only one would remain in my mind... It would be not an old one...
I would say Fruits Basket rules!

(but the list would contain City Hunter

, Kimagure Orange Road and Maison Ikkoku as well... and more modern, Kanojo to Kareshi, even unfinished, was a nice thing lol!)

That ^ aside, since I guess it's a given fact that most people would agree to, I would have to go with

Azumanga Daioh,
FMP Fumoffu (I can never remember how to spell that...),
Ghost Stories (At least, the English version. They took that series so far out of context, I swear...),
Pani Poni Dash,
Nerima Daikon Brothers, of course...

And I'll most likely think of more as time comes.

I agree, Fooly Cooly (FLCL) is totally funny. It's probably more perverted and random than Excel Saga -- hard to beat.
