I've seen them all as well and highly recommend them to anyone willing to watch anime. He does an excellent job!

Own it. Nothing beats Hoshi no Koe though for raw emotional appeal.

Forgive the arguably unwarranted revival of this thread, but I think this is a very important anime.
It is THE MOST visually striking movie I've ever watched, and that includes Miyazaki. Every detail was expertly captured. Does anyone know if this was all hand drawn or was some of it digital?
Also, it almost hurt to watch. The story is quite sad, and feels very real, which is saying something considering all the mecha and magical girl stuff floating around out there.

Digital. If you want to be more amazed, I really, really suggest you watch Hoshi no Koe, 星の声 (Voices of a Distant Star), which initially was animated entirely by Shinkai. He did the male voice, and his wife did the female voice. It was later cleaned up and professional voice actors used after it won a number of awards.

I like all of Shinkai's works, and I love 5センチ but not near as much as I love Hoshi no Koe.
