Well I think the saddest animes are Elfen Lied ... and Rurouni Kenshin OVA .... also Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ..... I cried when I watched them .... Especially Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ..... xP

World and Life is like a rotating wheel. You won't always be at the top. At some point you will be at the bottom. But There are ways to keep yourself at the top for longer time, Like Run as fast as you can to the opposite direction of the rotating wheel.

Yes, i do think Rurouni Kenshin OVAs are one of the most tragic anime films i have watched so far...i thought the 1st OVA (Betrayal) was tragic enough when Kenshin lost Tomoe (his first love/wife)...but the 2nd OVA (Reflection) was even more tragic when Kenshin died while he lays on Kaoru's lap...

The OST (soundtracks) added powerfully to the tragic atmosphere of the OVAs...

Japan does not understand very well that one of its proudest cultural achievements is in film--- Akira Kurosawa

For a sad Theme Anime, I think Gunslinger Girl was quite sad, all those poor little girls and terrible pasts, it made me cry lots of times, especially with Rico, who was practically abandoned by her parents when she needed them, really nasty.

But it was enjoyable and the story was fantastic, and it looked amazing as well, wish there was more
