I agree with you on this.
If you can't use both the languages, the learning takes much longer..yeah. And it's useless to learn two or more at the same time.

I can speak very fluently in Malay, and Japanese .. a bit in english, very little in arabic..

Currently Just English
Next year I am going to start learning Japanese.
Currently just starting community college but when I transfer to a 4 year university I will continue Japanese to a 4 year profenciency and also want ot do at learst 2 years of Korean.
I also want to learn Swedish and Russian sometime in the future if I have time.
