Pollution :( - 03-01-2010, 11:57 PM

I have been hearing a lot of things that have been happening in places like in Haiti in other places around the world. It disturbs me how all these people are suffering just because we can't learn to appreciate what a beautiful planet we have and how we are so cought up in our lifes to even pay attention to all the damage we r doing to it.

What do u think of all of this??

Haiti had a major earthquake. So did Chile.

It wasn't a lack of appreciation in the beauty of the planet that caused the suffering, but a shift in tectonic plates.

Pollution does not cause earthquakes.

If you believe in conspiracy theories, the American government generated earthquakes through HAARP.

Humans cause pollution, but it has nothing to do with earthquakes. Read more about both before you keep making those kind of statements.

Earthquakes were around long before humans and pollution were even thought of.

I am wondering where you got the idea that pollution causes earthquakes? Shifts in tectonic plates along fault lines cause earthquakes, pollution has zero to do with it. As above, the planet has been suffering from earthquakes since well before humans evolved- did you think there were no earthquakes before humans started creating pollution, i.e. before about 200 years ago? Of course there were. If you are wondering about the causes of earthquakes, I recommend reading the Wikipedia page on that topic.
