Irma - Japanese fashion? - 05-26-2010, 03:32 PM

Just read an article in the daily news of denmark.

Japanese has gone crazy about the Irma-image, of a girl in blue dress.
Can any japanese agree on this?

I am not Janpanese, know little about the girl. Any one can tell me further information of the blue free girl.

I think it has less to do with the irma cartoon image and more to do with the Marimekko (マリメッコ) and Irma(イヤマ)store brands and products which are the type of cute European styled gifts and things that Japanese girls tend to go for.

The irma cartoon image does have that "maid" vibe going so I think that association is another cute factor for girls.
