Holly Black, she does a lot of goth themed books

Koji Suzuki, he is the one who wrote the Ring series and the book is 100x better than the movies

i have many fav authors. one of my most favorite one is: R.L. Stine. he made the goosebump books and the fear street ones. i read both so u no... there really good. there was a vamp book i got done reading, it was good. christopher moore made it. im going go find some other books by him.

As far as normal book authors, I would definitely say that Emily Rodda is my first fave (she wrote the Deltora Quest series--awesome series, plus Rowan of Rin--also cool, and the Faerie Realm--more of a girl series, I think). Next would be Christopher Paolini, who wrote Eragon, Eldest, and is coming out with the 3rd book really soon! Can't wait!
