BTW, scratchingとは日本語では何になりますか？

Scratching は直訳すると「掻く：かく；KAKU」あるいは「引っ掻く：ひっかく；HI KKAKU」ですが、 to push up the thread という意味だとすると　「アゲる:AGERU」と言ったりします。

ただし、「アゲる（上げる）；AGERU」をこういう意味で使うのは標準的な日本語ではありません。いわゆるネット語というか2ch用語です。2chでは「ageる」とか書いたりします。

2chではthreadが目立つことを避けるためにむしろ「下げる：SAGERU」ことがrecommendされたりします。これを2ch用語では「sage進行」と呼んだりします。

When translated directly, "scratching" is 「掻く：かく；KAKU」 or 「引っ掻く：ひっかく；HIKKAKU」.

However in this case, "scratching to push up the thread" should be translated as 「アゲる:AGERU」.

To use 「アゲる」 in thi meaning is not standard Japanese. It is so called "Net slang" used in the"2ch" (http://2ch.net).
