Driving in Tokyo - 12-28-2007, 09:26 PM

I have rented a car to drive from Narita Airport to the Nagano area next February.
Knowing the traffic problems in Tokyo I was wondering what the easiest way to go would be.
Looking at my map it appears that to leave Narita heading north west following the Narita Line Rail to Inzai-Shi, then Kashiwa-Shi, then Joban Expressway, then Kan-Etsu Expressway and I am well on my way.
Time is not a problem, I am just looking for the easiet route around Tokyo.
Would appreciate comments.
Thanks and keep the white stuff coming down !.

Wow! Why are you driving? It's easier and cheaper to take a train.

Have been to Japan and caught trains and planes. In a car I can see what I want and go where I want. There is 4 of us so it is not much more expensive that bullet trains etc. Any clues for me ?

I see...

Sorry...it sounds like you have a pretty good idea. From Narita you wouldn't have to even go through Tokyo if you didn't want to to get to Nagano.
