Sumo training - 02-22-2008, 08:07 AM

Hi guys,
I'm going to Japan from 28th July to 16th August.

I have seen that in this period, there aren't a Sumo turnaments.
I'm very curious to see a Sumo training.

Do you know some gymnasium where I can see them, please?

Many thanks
Have a great day

Even a tournament is a VERY expensive form of entertainment, and their "stables" as they are called are not open to the public. I was able to go to one tournament in Osaka a while back, and it was a very memorable experience.

The best place to go is ryogoku...I stayed there went I went to japan and they have a sumo museum and restaurant called hana no mai that on certain nights have sumo singers :-)

I loved staying there and the food was really good, plus you may get tickets to see the sumo there as the museum also holds sumo matches there aswell.
