How Tight Are the Japanese on age restrictions?

They didn't check ID when I was there, they will make a rough guess of your age.

Though they definitely won't let you in if you are porven to be underage.

I am legal.. you know, we all discourage illegal activities, so my recommendation is "DON'T"

yesyes i know.i just want to know the "What if" situation =P.i am 'koff' 21years of age.Since u guys dont promote illegal activites(which is most certainly a good thing)i am legal,just need to know for a friend of mine

Don't be a jackass.

The legal age is 20.

If you are 19 I wouldn't expect many problems.

If you are 16 I would suspect you'll have a hard time getting into clubs, depending on your looks.

I was carded (as a male) at some dance clubs in Tokyo and Osaka, but didn't have an issue at most bars.
