Watches in Japan? - 03-17-2009, 03:10 PM

I might be going to Japan later this year, and randomly I found something someone wrote about getting a watch there. According to this person watches in Japan are really cheat. This got me thinking, because I don't have a watch myself, and I'd like to get one when I whent there if they are good and not too expensive.

I don't have a watch right now because of two reasons, they are expensive here where I live, and I can never seem to find one that I like enough to buy it.

What are your experiences in this field?

They used to be cheap, but things are about even with the rest of the world price wise now.

Really? Oh... The financial crisis is it?

Well then, does anyone know what kind of watches they have in Japan? If they have really cool ones, I'll get one there, if not I'll just get one here before I go (I'll have to have one there once I go you see)

I don't know how much watches cost in Norway but the watches in Japan aren't exactly cheap. In fact, all of the consumer electronics I looked at were cheaper in Canada than in Japan due to the yen.

Japan is good if you desperately need the latest and greatest but you'll be paying a large premium.

By the way, here's a large showcase of watches :

Wow, those where awesome, but I don't need something that fancy! Just a simple, but good watch is enough for me. I was just hoping for one that's a bit cool, like you maybe only can get in japan or something, but still regular in a way...
Wow, I explain it so simple, like always.
