Want how to work in japan advice
 

I need some advice on how to get a Work Visa

About me:
-In US
-Age:18
-Will graduate from High School by the time I ever get to Japan
-I think I have several Japanese relatives if that helps
(Dad's sister married a Japanese guy who had like 10 brothers/sisters who married and had children)
-No college degree
-No work experience
-Can speak Japanese pretty well, but can't read :X


Yeah, lots of negative things. But I want to move to Japan asap and live on my own. And my parents are really against it so I gotta support myself money wise. Waiting for a Bachelor Degrees is like 4 more years.

I would love to take college in Japan but my parents won't pay for my college unless it's for America college.

So if I can get a job and work visa, maybe I can live in an appartment in Japan, harhar, but anybody have ideas on the job and work visa part?

You probably will not get a job in Japan without a Bachelor's degree, as I'm sure you've heard 100 times.

You can go to English speaking international universities in Japan, but they would cost a lot, just like college.

Basically, here's how it goes:

You need a place to live in Japan.
To get one, you need money.
To get money, you need a job in Japan.
To get a job in Japan, you need a worker's visa.
To get a worker's visa, you need a Bachelor's degree. (99% of the time)
To get a Bachelor's Degree, you need to go to school.
To go to school, you need more money.

So start saving money, is the only advise I can offer you.




Or you can find a Japanese citizen to marry you, get a spousal visa, and skip all of this.

I will be blunt, nobody will hire you and offer you sponsorship for a job visa, not unless you have some really exceptional skill that they really want. Especially in this economy.

Not just ANY job will give you access to an apartment, life in japan is not easy, and its very expensive. For a foreigner to get a job and to live there comfortably, you really need to be at least working in middle management of some sort or someone that is in some form of specialized profession

Your other option is to get married to Japanese. It was mentioned in other thread as well that Japanese are very realistic and practical, they look for security financially as well

I agree with AlanX. It's really so hard to be able to have a visa to live in Japan. I think it's harder at the moment due to the economic crisis. So the only chance you have is to get married with a japanese woman

There is. Marry a Japanese citizen. Then you are eligible for a Spousal Visa, which allows you to stay in Japan for 3 year increments. And yes, you can work on a spousal visa.

I find it hilarious how people suggest getting married as if it is nothing, and takes absolutely no work or effort at all...

For a large chunk of the world`s population - going through college is probably faster, cheaper, and much more reliable. Not to mention no risk of totally screwing your future up by jumping into a commitment for visa benefits.

Well yeah, but I know about 2-3 people who have done this effortlessly.
You get married, get a spousal visa, and move.

Also: Yeah, If you are getting married to a national solely for the purpose of obtaining a visa, then obviously there will be some complications probably relating to the marriage.

I mean if you're in a stable relationship with a citizen. Not go out and look for a citizen to get a visa. Sorry for confusion.

Another thing though, if someone is 18, don't have much of an education or source of financial support, should they get married to a japanese girl (Assuming one would marry him) because they are in a deep "loving" relationship?

Love is blind, but to survive you still need food and shelter

If you got married, don't you think your spouse would provide you with these kinds of things? She probably won't let you mooch off of her forever, but at least until you get on your feet. This goes for any country. You're (normal) spouse isn't just going to let you be homeless.
