Japanese attitude toward Americans? - 08-10-2007, 10:11 AM

I'm wondering how the Japanese act to Americans.. I mean, there's so much racism everywhere, you know.

What about people trying to adapt to their culture; like wearing Japanese style clothing, something like cosplay stuff?

I'm just curious, since I'm planning on going to Japan in the future.

THe Japanese people are not ants that all act a certain way.

Well, jeez, I asked nicely.... I don't think that kind of response was called for.

He talked to me like I was a child, and I found it offensive.

I apologize for being curious.

the ones that i know act just like we do. they are just like any one else in the world. so americans do act weird toward them but for the most part they make better friends out of the Japanese people than they do out of americans

If you spend a few moments reading through the forums you will find that this topic has been hashed and rehashed.

I am not picking on you, as I know you are new here, but spend a little time going through the different sections and see if you can find the answers you are looking for before starting a new thread.

The question about cosplay is a good one, and should go in the fashion section.

But questions that assume that all Japanese think a certain way aren't going to lead anywhere because there are as many opinions as there are Japanese people.
