Shibuya/Girly style - 11-24-2008, 09:13 PM

I've noticed alot of extreme fashion threads such as Lolita/VK/ Ganguro but i haven't seen any shibuya styles.

It's the mainstream style.
Shibuya styles has pretty much spread across asia, it consists of the girly look, with frills and a more feminine look, without looking extreme like the ganguro. They're big on brands. This is the look of most dorama women
e.g: Riko izawa in Zettai Kareshi

This look is big in Japan, South Korea, China and other places in asia. [seriously, you can't find any sturdy flat shoes in asia, they're all feminine ones with heels]

examples [will upload more]

Yeah, they're basically what all the girls in the 6th form wear.

Personally, I don't wear what's in fashion, I wear what flatters me and I don't think those kind of tops do me much justice. I'm not a fan of brands either.

Some of the stuff is nice though, it's really good for smart things that I have to wear for 6th form.

The reason why nobody starts threads dealing with mainstream fashions is because...well, they're mainstream ¦p There's not really much to discuss... You see people dressed like this all over the place, so it's nothing that special. Of course, this does not mean that it's bad to be casual, since the majority of people dress casually. It's not as...interesting is all.

yep, and i wouldn't peg this kind of style on "shibuya" as it's pretty much adopted everywhere in japan as the 'norm'. it's only the outlandish kind of stuff that are somewhat area-specific

I actually prefer this style.

Ofcourse I like the rock-shizz too, but the plain feminine is super cute and it suits pretty much everyone.
