Eyeliner - 03-16-2010, 04:33 PM

Hi, I noticed that in some of the pictures, some of you wore an eyeliner. I'm wondering how you get it to stay put? Because on me, it looks good for about half an hour, but after that, it usually ends up smudging. I usually use kohl or regular waterproof eyeliner. Does (do?) anyone have any tips? Thank you.

Hey. I think it's different for everyone, and depends on things like how oily your skin is, but I ususally put black eyeshadow on top my my eyeliner to seal it. Although, this might not work for everyone.

Thank you for the advice I wear contacts, so maybe that has something to do with it. Right now I put some powder underneath, I though maybe then it wouldn't smudge so much. If not, I'll try put on some eye shadow on top, but I have to buy it first. ^^,

I put it on the inside of the lid at the root of the lashes and then go in from on top with a dark brown or grey eyeshadow, using a flat brush. Seems to work for me.

liquid. or gel liners. =)

and some sort of eye primer underneath it.

It kinda depends on how oily your lids are

Get it done by Yinnie. She's like the master of make-up here in JF.

How much are you putting on? I remember when I was younger I used to cake on eyeliner but I've learned that when it comes to eyeliner in particular less is more.

I have naturally oily skin myself before I put on make up I use a face wash that tends to make my face a little more dry which has helped the most with keeping my makeup in place

Thank you so much everyone

Thank you. I use very little, since I'm so pale, so it tends to look a bit harsh. I just draw a really thin line as close to the eye as I can get. My skin is also very dry and sensitive, not oily, and if I wear cream, I normally apply that just before I go to bed.

Ahhh yes, as the Guru Yinnie says.
I'd add a good powder too though, as it makes it not 'run' and smudge as much.
Depends if it's going on your upper lashline or if you're talking about lining and tightlining inside the eye.

I use liquid eyeliner, it generally stays put. Pencil eyeliner will fade throughout the day unless you re-apply it. Liquid eyeliner can be pretty harsh though so be careful with it.
