Identification costume traditionnel - 11-05-2016, 10:51 AM

Hello everyone,
Does anybody know what's the costume of the men sitting in the carriage ? It's a photo from Kyoto's Jidai Matsuri.

Thank you

Google translates your message as follows:

It can suit anyone what leads men who sit in the cart? This is a photo of the Kyoto Jidai Matsuri. Also, to what years in Japan wore the costume of the box?

The Costume on the coach is used in 8th century to 12th century.

that's interesting it's the first time I've seen those costumes... they are for a ceremony or for a particular day of the year (for example like Tanabata) ?

Before westernized, Japan has two type of high-society people. One group is SAMURAIs around the SHOGUN (TOKUGAWA family) and another: the noble people around the Emperor.

These costumes shown on the photo are for the noble people who do not fight with their body. The fight for their life by the conspiracy.
