Chikama (Cheese kamaboko) - 10-08-2009, 01:04 PM

So... I get some packs of these from my friend, and I'm looking for new way to eat them. What is your favorite way to eat chikama? Boil them first, serve with hot broth, or simply eat them after peel the plastic case?
Some people I asked even deep-fried them in tempura batter. Or eat them directly with wasabi-soy sauce.
Any idea will be appreciated

I prefer chichiku myself.

But the best way I`ve had chikama was baked in bread. Alone they always taste cheap to me so I never buy them... If they appear in my house, I generally slice and fry them. Boiled is a new one to me.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

but i will have to try one now.

you could try them oden style,... boil it in a broth and then have it with a bit of karashi in soy sauce, which is mustard. not american mustard, more like english mustard.
