I really like Pocky (strawberry, caramel, chocolate and Mens flavours), but I prefer Toppo (like inside out Pocky and taste like chocolate coated pretzels) (P.S. in Japan it is spelled 'Pocky' on the boxes I've seen!)

I'm also a fan of Picola, Monokuro Boo sweets, and a strawberry coated cone shaped biscuit from Meiji (I don't know what the name is as it's all in Kanji).
I've found a shop in London that sells all sorts of different snacks and food from Japan (and Korea) so I'm working my way through their selection (I haven't quite plucked up the courage for the sweet dried fish on skewers though )

Japanese Dessert: Ice cream and fried oysters - 12-31-2006, 07:38 AM

An unusual local specialty is gaining popularity in Okayama: A soft ice cream topped with fried oysters.

Called "kaki (oyster) soft," the unlikely taste sensation can be yours for a mere 250 yen...

Fried oysters with ice cream ? That is one of the most unusual things I have ever heard of. But I still am curious about it's tastes.

I am up to try anything once... Besides, the sweet and the salty could turn out to be better than it sounds... Like when people put cashews or other nuts in ice cream... But I've never had oysters.. I'd still like to try it anyways.

Man just reading this thread is getting me hungry. HA! I took some Pokey to school and ppl were all 'I want some more!' and I told them they could get it from this Asian Market down the street.
It's only 89 cents! But the big box with almonds is like $2 or 5 at the other Asian market.

Packs of Pocky for 39p!? How could I resist?

*Note - Pocky is the actual spelling. I'm getting this information from the box in my left hand
