Spelling and grammar questions - 12-15-2007, 05:32 AM

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I'm spelling these sentences correctly and if I'm using proper grammar. Becuase I've been dying to try out my japanese keybaord input for more than just my name in Hiragana on myspace. And spelling Tonarino Totoro >_>...

Okay, here goes:

おやすみなさいい!=Good night!

わたしは 日本語が すこし はなします. I speak japanese a little

なにか のみませんか?Won't you drink something?

I'm still not very good with katakana, It's being harder for me to memorize than hiragana. but am I good so far?

For a beginner, you're doing alright.

おやすみなさいい!=Good night! ==>おやすみなさい
すこし ==>すこしい

Katakana have some similarities with hiragana. Practice them out by writting them over and over again. You'll get the hang of it.

ok sorry but you corrected supermario and gave the wrong correction... supermario wasn't wrong actually.

すこし = 少し = correct. すこしい = 少しい is incorrect

to supermario..
you did well with your typing but unfortunately your grammar is incorrect.. because you said 日本語が you should use the potential verb 話せます(はなせます) when you use 話します(はなします)you need to use を. the meaning comes out differently also as you can see belore:

私は日本語が少し話せます - わたし が にほんご が すこし はなせます
I can speak a little Japanese
this means you are able to.

私は日本語を少し話します - わたし は にほんご を すこし はなします
I (will) speak a little Japanese
this means you are going to.

keep up the practice, you'll find typing second nature in no time.

Oops, pardon me. Yeah, you are most correct. I will have to be more careful about that.
