  This comes from Lyrics

 さあ力よ宿れ 、 さあ祈りよ届け
Saa chikara yo yadore , saa inori yo todoke

I dont understand , what's the function of よ(yo) here....

白鳥は哀しからずや、空の青、うみのあをにも、染まず ただよふ。
美魚さんは白鳥、僕は青、ぼくらは交わらない

i think it the function of "yo" is to kind of tell the chikara/inori to yodaru/todoku
if that makes sense ^^;

i agree.
yo is a postpositional particle. that means to call who you talk to. in this case, chikara and inori.

now, come to me, power, come true, prayer!

Hi! - 01-05-2008, 07:54 AM

I try to expalin the usage of "yo".
"yo" express emotion, feeling over others(it contain God)or appeal.

Juding from a quoted sentence,it express appeal to something.

You would wonder it's for whom, but the objects in this case are Chikara and Inori.
Japanese language often omit word.
Practically,a quoted sentence is that sort of it.

I complemented some words.
Saa chikara yo (watasi ni or watasino ken ni etc..)yadore , saa inori yo (ten ni or seirei ni etc..)todoke

You will infer words from the story or background of Manga/Anime culture common sence.

Last,
We japanese don't use it in daily life.
"yo"is used in Manga,Anime, novels or play.

I can write some examples if you want.
