I came across this sentence in my workbook but I am not sure I translated it right, could someone check it?
子供の時、いい子供でしたか
about child time, were you a good child?

yeah you basically got it. instead of "about child time" i'd say "when you were a child" though

I was playing an MMORPG online a few months ago and I met some Japanese players. One of them was teaching me some basic things to say. I think some of it was maybe slang though, because I was told to use "ari" instead of "arigatou".

Anyway, something that stuck in my head was that when I used "sayonara" to say goodbye, they said that they don't say that often. Is "sayonara" really not used much?

I asked this question before, but it wasn't "answered", persay, so here it is again:

What is the difference between the two ji's (In both hiragana and katakana)? By that, I mean "za, ji, zu, ze, zo" & "da, ji, du, de, do."

One more thing. I met a foreign exchange student from Japan, and I want to write a short message welcoming him. There are a few sentences I do not know how to write/say, so here they are:

1) Edit: I found the answer.

2) Sorry for my bad Japanese handwriting. I don't know a lot of vocabulary or phrases.

3) Along with that, I only know how to write in hiragana, katakana, and a little kanji.

4) I apologize any mistakes in this message.

5) I'm still a beginner.

6) Have a nice day!

7) P.S. Learning Japanese is fun!

If anyone is willing to translate these, please, if you do not mind, put it in romaji and hiragana/katakana. If you are going to add kanji, that is fine, too.

You heard it right. You would seldom hear it said in Japan. That's just too serious a good-bye to say everyday.

この二つの漢字はどう読みますか。どういう意味ですか 。
（辞書に見つかりませんので。）

Wikipediaの翻訳は"Sorry For The Wait! Falling down drunk Melon Bread!"です。
どうして「メロンパンでメロンメロン！」は"falling down drunk melon bread!"ですか。
間違いですか。

Is there a good Japanese to English translation program out there somewhere? Things like the online Google Translation are laughably bad.
