Survival Japanese - 07-13-2009, 01:11 PM

Hello everyone,

Survival Japanese is my attempt to explain my understanding of the Japanese language. I'm striving to make those videos easily understood for beginners.

Please do comment and let me know what you think.

About Kara and Made (から まで)

Introduction to Kanji:

Remembering the kanji:

My objective is to make a new video on a daily basis.

Cheers!

I checked out the "Introduction to Kanji" for poops and giggles.

And I must say, it was one of the best explanations of 音読み and 訓読み I've seen in a long time.

Nice. I checked out your kanji video, and I approve. I am only in the beginning of learning kanji but I use a similar method to what you described. I picked up a few new techniques though. Thanks!

Not that corrections were requested, regarding the から/まで video, it's incorrect to say 歩いてどのくらい. That unnecessary で makes it sound very foreign to my native ear.

Sorry but I had to mention this as it's a teaching-purpose video. I've just watched the first two and I like the way you explain things.

Good point, JackIsLost.

Nagoyankee, thanks for the correction. Actually, I would like to go commercial with this in the future so I have to fix anything that's wrong, even details.

Here's the new video "Asking for time"

Comments and crits welcome.

So you make beginner mistakes in Japanese instructional videos but you want to go commercial with them?!

In the "asking time" video, at the new words slide the romanji for minute are reversed. I only saw "asking time", but I think it's really handy for beginners, because it's explained well.
