I want to learn japanese activly but somehow I'm too lazy or don't have time Somedays I have to work and after work I just don't want to do anything like that and on my free days I feel too lazy to learn it I hope I can start learning in school time but I bet I won't have time for it

When do you think people die?

When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol?
No.

When they are ravaged by an incurable disease?
No.

When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom?
No!

It's when... they are forgotten.

I have been trying to learn as much Japanese as possible.

I first started taking Japanese at a college during my senior year of high school. I really enjoyed it, so I enrolled in the second year Japanese summer class. That was killer. Three hours of Japanese a day, five days a week in addition to tons of homework. But hey, I enjoyed it, so I fought on. Then after summer, being accepted into the university that I had been taking Japanese classes at, I continued with my studies and took the third year Japanese class.

In addition to the classroom, I have been actively seeking other ways to improve my Japanese. There were Japanese events on campus that I went to, I participated in a language exchange with a Japanese person who was in the states for a few months, and I even went to a language camp for a weekend to be a counselor and help high school students learn and improve their Japanese.

I would say for two years time, that isn't bad. Next up on the agenda is a year long study abroad in Japan starting in September.

I been taking private tuition for about a year now, i must admit that at the moment i'm past the this is really hard phase and am really enjoying. As for writing i manly concentrate on flash cards for the hiragana & katakana but my main emphasis is on speaking and listening. hence why i joined Japan forum to keep expanding my knowledge.

From what I've heard on here and what I read on Friday, it seems like the best place to start is by learning the kana. Does that sound right?

I will begin to learn it this year. My brother will go to a school in which japanese is one of the languages u can learn.
He will teach it to me until I will study there after my job training.
atm I'm learning to play Erhu

Yes, someday I will go there! At least due to my study.
Its the most beautiful language in my opinion.
