What are the top phrases or words a tourist should be able to speak, understand, or read while in Japan?
Put another way, when you visit Japan, what are your most often used words and phrases?

I would image common sense would tell you that greetings would be essential. This would also go for: asking for directions, ordering food, and how to order beer.
