A little grammar help please. (A short Japanese passage from adventure game) - 08-16-2009, 10:23 AM

Hello everyone

Would someone be able to translate the following passage for me?

私が神宮寺さんの事を尋ねた帝都テレビの友人に電話し たところ私が神宮寺さんを捜していることすら漏らしていないと 言っていました。

The scenario is that person A (私) is speaking to a person named Jinguuji.
Now what I am a little confused about is the part highlighted in bold. Is the speaker saying either

a) I contacted a friend at Teito television who I asked about you

or does it mean

b) I contacted a friend at Teito television who asked about you

The confusing bit is WHO asked about Jinguuji. Would anyone be able to clear this up for me?

I've been thinking about this passage for quite some time.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

This is such a poorly-written sentence though it's clearly written by a native speaker. I don't blame you for not understanding it.

After a minute of thinking, I would say that it means:

"When I called my friend at Teito TV whom I had asked about Jinguuji, he said that he hadn't even let out the secret that I was looking for Jinguuji."

You must have the context. You could tell if that makes sense.

Thanks a lot Nagoyankee and Yuriyuri. I noticed that you deleted your post Yuriyuri, I would have loved to read what you have said. But anyway, thanks for posting.
