Essay Contest for US HS Students--Win a Trip to Japan - 11-13-2009, 09:16 PM

Entries are now being accepted for the Kobe College Corporation-Japan Eduation Exchange High School Essay Contest, sponsored by Omron Corporation.


One winner will be selected to study Japanese at the Kyoto Japanese Language School from July 12-August 6, 2010.

The prize includes tuiton at the language school, round-trip airfare, and accomodations with a host family.


The contest is open to U.S. high school students who will have completed at least one year of formal Japanese language study, and be 16 years of age, by July 1, 2010.


Applicants should write an essay of 500 words maximum, in English, about their experience studying Japanese, and how the study of Japanese language and culture fits into their plans for the future.


The application deadline is February 15th, 2010.

You high school kids out there should do this. There's a similar comp in college, and some of my friends got to go to Japan for free through the it.
