Do you all know the RINGU is inspired by a real story?

There was a girl who corresponded to Sadako's mother named Chizuko Mifune.

Both versions were incredibly mediocre, in my opinion. The Japanese version was a pretty good movie and I enjoyed it, but Japanese movies just aren't scary. My girlfriend can do the creepy face better than Sadako herself though

I have to agree... Ringu 0 was absolutely amazing... I have seen all of the Ringu/Ring movies... and Ringu 0 took my breath away... especially the scene where Sadako and her love interest (I can't remember his name for the life of me) say 'Ai Shiteru' to each other through the sound booth at the theater. That was one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen.

Although '0' is considered to be in the horror genre... I see it more as a romance movie. It was beautiful... Must See!!!

I've seen Ringu, Ringu 2, Ringu 0: Basudei, and The Ring. I thought Ringu was the scariest of them. Ringu 2 didn't make much sense and sort of did its own thang, and Basudei...well, I loved it because Ban Daisuke* was in it (he was Sadako's dad, Professor Ikuma) and he finally got to do more than just rush at the camera with a machete or whatever it was he had in his hands to do in Sadako.

But, I have to admit, when I was watching Ringu the first time, our own phone rang during the movie and my husband and I both screamed like little girls. Ugh.

I never saw the original Ju-On, but I did see The Grudge and it scared the heck outta me. But it takes a lot to beat Sadako crawling out of the TV set in Ringu!

* Tokusatsu and sentai fans should recognize him as Jiro from Jinzo Ningen Kikaida, Goro from Inazuman, Makoto/Battle Cossack II from Battle Fever J, and Izumo from Ninja Captor, among others...

You gotta do it yourself..."

Yeah, it was beautiful. And then later when Sadako kills her love interest. So sad, but so good. I loved it. It was incredible. I haven't watched that movie in like a year, I think I'm gonna have to watch it again

Ringu was pretty good, but the Grudge really freaked me out. I officially have closetphobia and gurglingsoundphobia now.

Dammit, I wish I owned Ringu 0 >.< I'm too poor to buy movies right now though. I just watch them online.

Yeah, The Grudge (or Ju-on) was pretty creepy. There's still a lot of J-horror movies though watch them! Don't just stick to the Ringu/Ju-on movies.

I recommend the Tomie movies.
