asouatiqah@ What makes a group 'good' is not necessarily the vocal performances. If the members have unique personalities and in general just seem to be awesome like that, they can fast become ones favorite. I do agree with you though. According to myself only Bakanishi and Kazuya can sing. >_<

No one in SMAP is in their 40s.

And Takuya Kimura is still in the top popularity lists despite being the ancient age of 37. (Shingo is only 32.)

Only ones I know are Kinki Kids... I used to hear them non-stop in a shop I worked because the manager was in love with them. "Everybody sing with us, Kinki Kids forever"... Damn, that tune was so catchy, I still remember it

Top popularity lists maybe but I think most of SMAP's fans are middle aged women..

Even if that were true (which it isn't if you look at any audience shot at thier live shows) I am not sure what difference that would make.
