stop making stuffs up. it is making yourself bad. i do not want to start my morning like this. bye bye.
British pop invasion? Never heard of that....

Im aware that British pop infiltrated the US market... I didnt know it was of such magnitude to overshadow the US music industry.

As for your China argument.... you are right... it has a big economy.

Maybe its the exception to the rule? (I can pull all sorts of other criteria out of my a$$... it doesnt have a free media or suffers from extreme self-censorship or has a very tiny middle class)

Or maybe you are right and my rule is full of s**t?

Finally.... maybe you shouldnt take this thread so seriously... after all... its about pop music

Lets look at economies between Japan and Korea... Oh well what do you know.

Japan wins again.
What does economies of Japan has to do with Jpop? China's economy is being controlled by Communism and while they are pretty open market today, it is still part of communism. Having that said, I hope this doesn't hurt your ego

First of all... how would that hurt my ego?

Second of all... 2nd biggest economy with over 1 billion people can still equal third world country in many ways.

With the Hallyu wave going on I would say that Kpop is bigger than Jpop.

Another thing is that the Korean Idols can actually sing and dance compared to the Japanese Idols. They just act cute :P

As far as I know "The British Invasion" is a widely used term to describe the influx of British pop groups entering the US market in the mid-sixties (basically following in the Beatles' footstepts). I don't quite know if that's what that commen was about, but if it is I hope that clears things up.
