I intend to go to northwestern college and take cooking courses there, and when I graduate, move to japan and work in a restaurant, perhaps on day own a restaurant. But I need to know some stuff about living in Japan first... I want to have a apartment, and I know it will be very expensive... can I own my own resturant or does the goverment take over with that... Can I own a bible... what?
Foreigners can own a restaurant, and there's no problem having a Bible... there are some Japanese Christians, and many of the foreigners there are Christian. There were even some Mormon missionaries living in the same town I was in Japan.

The problem will be getting a work visa to legally work in Japan. Others have gone into in more detail before on these forums, so I won't repeat it all.
