Where are you moving in Canada?

Well any unlocked GSM phone can work in canada, or even some CDMA phone!

But your phone as to be unlocked so you can put another sim card in here from another provider.

You just need to make sure the phone has a removeable sim card so you can switch them. Other wise i think you have to pay someone to unlock it or do it yourself.

Well sometimes it can cost like only 20$ to unlock it.
Depends on the place you go to.

You can also find on the web how to unlock the phone, seomtimes it's failry easy, otrhers it's a big assle.

How long will you be staying in Canada? If it's just a temporary move, you can get a multi-band phone from Softbank or Docomo, and pay for international roaming plan when you travel. I use a Docomo phone, and have found that the roaming rates were not expensive (on my last trip of a few weeks I used the phone 3 or 4 times a week in America, and the calls were free). If you are going to be living in Canada, then don't bother with a Japanese phone, even if you do get it unlocked, the cell system in Canada/America is a decade behind Japan, and almost none of the features on your Japanese phone will work there.
