Thumbs up Going To Japan as a Junior Ambassador-Info? - 03-03-2007, 06:56 AM

Hi I'm going to Japan (Fukuoka) in July, and I'm taking part in a Peace Convention, which goes for two weeks.(Without my parents plus no contact with parents and for free) I don't get to choose where I visit, but I do know we will be visiting a shrine so can you please give me any other information about Fukuoka? Such as what it looks like, happenings, great landscapes/sights, etc because I would like a bit more background information about Fukuoka/Japan so I have a bit more knowledge before I go there. Also I have a good translation site for you, just ask. So any info will be greatly appreciated.

P.S The Official Peace convention/Asian Pacific hildren's Convention(APCC) site is: http://www.apcc.gr.jp/

Here is Fukuoka's internet magazine. It has some information that may help you. Fukuoka is in Kyushu which is the southern island of Japan. You are nowhere near Tokyo. Fukuoka is next to the sea. It is quite a modern city because most of it was flattened during the war. However, there are a few historical places left such as Dazaifu which has nice temples.
