Who wants to be a friend of a not so long term resident in Japan - 05-13-2010, 12:34 AM

First of all, a Big Hi to all friends and members here.
I have been in Japan from last 6 months.
Will like to increase my social network here by knowing some good friends around.
How many of you are foreigners living in Japan?
And how many of you are Japanese living abroad?
Just bit curious to know some stuff.

Wow, that was a quick reply.
How long have you been here.
What is particularly good about Japan that has made you stay here ?
Anything that you do not like too much here ?

I have been here about 6 years. I have stayed here mostly out of wanting to improve my Japanese, saving money, and just really doing something that not everybody else does.

My only real complaint with this country is the rampant, unregulated smoking in restaurants and bars. Not being able to go into many places that one goes to have a good time without having to put up with people blowing cancer in your face, and stinking up your clothes becomes quite off-putting sometimes.

No offense to smokers, but second hand smoke is a nuisance that needs to be eradicated from public places period.

I know Japanese people try to be non-confrontational, but dammit, non-smokers need to stand up to this 迷惑No1, and put it in its place.
