They ain't great, I'm no photographer and not had time to caption any of them, but there might be some you find interesting.

There are quite a lot of toys/shops/buildings, so don't expect a lot of shrines and traditional culture stuff, but there is that too!

Kobe, Nagoya, Hiroshima, Himeji, Osaka, Miyajima, Kyoto and nipponbashi(denden town - osaka)

^ Now-a-days, there aren't that many of these 'squatties' anymore!
I think the last places are rural areas, some public parks, small train stations.

My Aunts place was a bit rural but they had a regular toilet. still, every month a truck came to haul away .... stuff.
