Photography Styles

My favorite photography is of body parts (PG!!) like eyes, lips and such. I also love sceneries, but who doesn't? ^.^ What do you think is the best kind? Do you think it's better to edit pictures that are taken or to leave them as they are?

I don't touch any photo, unless the ones I got requested to at work. On my site, I only have one "modified", in which I removed the blur (it was taken at a very high distance).

Now, that requires skill.

I love photography myself. Especially black and white. I am also against retouching. On the other hand, a good editing requires not only artistic skills but also a great knowledge of the software. It's a rare skill. But I am with Protheus, traditional photography is like calligraphy. It cannot be meddled with or it looses its purity and charm spawned by raw power of light or lines, further mixed with imperfections that only add more flavour.

I don't pretend to be a "purist." The most jaw dropping photography you see today is all retouched. From billboards to travel magazines, you'll have a hard time finding artists among the best who don't/haven't retouched photos to the point where it's almost a niche to not.

its not about being jaw dropping but real. not many things are real these days. so what that it is great visually, while it is bleached of naturalness.

I don't know why, but I am almost addicted to editing my pictures. I like to enhance them and make them more than they already are. i don't try to alter it so much that it looks completely different than the original, but I add or take out some of the color, blur the edges for a framed look, alter the brightness or contrast. Minor things like that. I like to keep a natural look to my photos. I would like to get a really nice camera so that I could start to take pictures more seriously. I really like to take photos, but using my phone's camera isn't getting me very far.

You are completely excused. I thought you are talking about pro photography.
