underage dating

I have an important question.

Is it legal for someone to date someone underage, even if they're not being intimate?

Gut instinct says no, primarily because it's not that...good...to start with, and adding in the prospect of extracurricular hanky-panky just makes things worse.

That's what I think.
He told me he will not be sleeping with her, cause he has no wish to spend 20 years in jail. But even just having her at the house is bad, right?

and now I am thinking that she might be drinking over there.

He said she'll be over tomorrow, and there will be some other people there, his roommates and their girlfriends among them. And they will be watching movies, and drinking.

He didn't say she'd be drinking, but it can be implied, right?

It is illegal to be "intimate" but it is not illegal to "date" someone. It is, however, illegal to supply alcohol to a minor.

And it's ok for someone underage to be at his house?

I'm not sure if she actually will be drinking alcohol, but he didn't say she wouldn't be.

I just think this isn't the smartest thing he's ever done. And why would he want to be with someone underage anyway?

It is OK for someone underage to be in another person's house.

I don't know who "he" is, so I can't say if it is the smartest thing he has ever done, but it sounds like a recipe for statutory rape.

well, I meant with them going out, but ok.

He is the person I was involved with.

Well, even though he said he told her he won't sleep with her, I suppose it's always possible, as there's nothing stopping him. especially if he's drunk.

It depends. If a girl is in an adults house and her parent knew about it, they can just call the cops and say that their daughter was "abducted", specially oic there's a romantic relationship involved. But it's really not illegal.

I'd say it is a romantic relationship, even without them being intimate. Considering they're going out with each other.

Ok.

A "rooster" block may be in order then.
