Post Members List is huge. - 02-24-2008, 04:00 AM

I new to Japan Forum, so I've been looking though the Members List. I couldn't help but notice the massive amount of accounts that have never posted. Perhaps there needs to be a pruning of unused accounts.

for example:
If the account is over six months old, and has never had a single post it should be deleted.
Before deletion, maybe a email, could be sent as a warning.
Do not delete if the user has posted before.

some people could be active by reading posts, so saying that they should be deleted if they haven't posted anything i think is not really a good way.

I guess you could cut down on the members list if it really bugged some people, but does it make any difference in the actual forum ~ ?

well I think its a good idea I mean why have a huge ass list that has a shit load of members that are new, have no posts and dont even visit the site....plus it'll be easier when ppl randomly want to go thru the members list, since the list will be shorter and easier to find some1 instead of having to skip thru so many names...

Well, how about deleting the accounts with zero post and haven't logged in the forum for six months? Two birds with one stone.

@persiandragon: if you sent an email as a warning first it would solve that problem.

@crani: without the "w" in two, it makes me think of an army marching towards a flock of birds on a rock. "ONWARD! To birds with one stone!"

just letting you know, because I've NEVER made a typo. Ever.

this is a good idea but if people sent an email....yes i know, its the proper thing to do..but my point is. if you sent an email to the inactive people then the just might come here for a day, make a post or two then do the whole thing again 6months from now just to save their account.
