I adore sushi and I have goldfish in an aquarium at home. The goldfish food smells like
rotted fish and seaweed, not what is served in restaurants. And it smells that way to attract the fish's attention.
Besides, sushi does not require the inclusion of fish anyway. There are several common vegetable nigiri that most Japanese restaurants will make for you. And they may even be wrapped in something other than norii (seaweed), like cucumber. Use some imagination or ask for something vegetarian. Most chefs can accomodate that, though the choices may be limited.
Otherwise, I tend to agree with those who recommended switching to a different style restaurant - like Asian Fusion where you can get Thai and other cuisines that offer more vegetarian variety.
