Hello,
Thank you to anyone reading this post. I am traveling to Kyoto and Tokyo in the next two weeks. I will be in Kyoto for the first week and Tokyo for the second week.
Can anyone grant information on the renowned Irezumi Master, Horiyoshi III?
I have his website:
http://www.ne.jp/asahi/tattoo/horiyoshi3/
What I am wondering is if Horiyoshi III or anyone at his studio speaks English.
I have heard of a waiting list as long as a year, is this for Irezumi only or any tattoo?
If I want to greet Horiyoshi III with great respect but not sound like a dorky Gaijin, how would I go about doing so? Somehow, "Ohayo gozaimsau Horiyoshi III-san, genki des?" seems a little generic.
Even if I cannot receive the master's ink, I'm still going to see his museum. If Horiyoshi III has the time and desire to breath life into my flesh I would be grateful and I would definitely have the praise of the tattoo Gods
Thanks to anyone who can be of advice
