I am an Indian citizen working with an international university in Vietnam. In the coming vacation, I would like to travel to Japan for 7/8 days.

However, when I ask the embassy here for Visa requirements, they say that I MUST produce an Invitation letter. I am really confused becoz I am just planning to go their as tourist not on business/job/cultural exchange etc.

Someone suggested that Hotels may issue a formal Invitation letter. Not sure if it's feasible....or don't know about any hotel like that.

All other documents are ready....but, I am strangely stranded on this "invitation" issue. I don't have anyone in JP to invite me.... I just want to travel as a tourist.

If any of you can give any lead on this issue, I will be grateful. Otherwise, I may have to change plan to travel to other countries.
