I think they're both very talented and both of their work has a special charm. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions though :] that's the point in open discussion

& Nana freakin rocks...as naive as Hachi is, shes still a cutie! |
Hachi is amazing. Watch the Nana movies, they're amazing.
And yes...that was sad when (K)Night dies. |
AI YAZAWA did PRINCESS AI???!!! O_O
Shit...I read that manga ages ago (without looking at the authors name...so stupid of me), and didn't think a thing of it!!! It's like when I started reading Tenshi Nanka Janai a few weeks ago, and found the style increasingly familiar, but not until I went and checked out the authors name did the whole magnitude of it strike me. I was like: 'YAZAWA AI?? *jaw drops* I'm a fool for not having known...'. |
It's alright =D! At least you're a fan of hers! *hugs*
|
No way! I had no idea Ai Yazawa did Princess Ai! Amazing :) I read all the spoilers for Nana and cried and cried! I loved that series so much :( I didn't like the ending for Paradise Kiss at all. As for Watase Yu-sama, love, love, LOVE her - humongous Miaka x Tamahome and Tooya x Aya fan here and absolutely loved Imadoki & Alice19th! :)

Yay, I helped you guys learn something :P

I definitely prefer Watase over Yazawa. I'm not a big fan of Yazawa's art. It's too iffy and "incomplete" for me. Truth be told I've only read Nana but even that I couldn't get through. The art bothered me way too much.
Imadoki was the second manga I read and it started my love for Watase's manga. Her characters just feel so whole to me and seem like real people. The stories she writes are very original and heart-wrenching in so many ways. Love her. ^_^ |
Yazawa's characters are very believable, I think. Her stories are usually depressing but so are Watase's. They're both great in my opinion.
