Dear Mods,

I just wanted to bring something up. I made a thread awhile back asking gay or bi people to share their coming out stories or things like that and it was closed because it had to do with sexual orientation. So..um...why is it okay to have Yaoi/Yuri threads? That's about homosexuality too.

I just didn't think that was fair. If some threads like that are allowed then I don't think it was fair to close mine. Thank you.

Threads about sexual orientation are not against the rules because we are anti-gay. They are against the rules because nothing positive ever comes out from them, in the end. People sharing their coming-out stories are exposing themselves to ridicule from our less sensitive and mature members.

Yaoi and yuri are genres of Japanese manga and anime. Sexuality is not necessarily a part of the stories. It would seem odd for a Japanese forum to ban discussion of certain manga genres.

Yes, but Yaoi and Yuri are gay romance stories. I understand it's a genre of manga/anime, but how come that doesn't inspire hate from the immature members of this website?

I understand that the mods have to keep the peace and that's why things like sexual orientation and religion aren't allowed, I was just sort of confused as to why threads like this are allowed.

No, I don't want this thread to be closed. I like Yuri (and a few Yaoi) as well, I just wanted to know why MINE was closed but this stayed open.

I already stated my reasons for saying that, so you don't have to get snappy about it.

my friend told me to watch an "BL" anime in youtube but it was some hardcore yaoi!..like seriously it's not even blocked from users under the age of 18..lol

anyways...i think i might just read yaoi mangas when i turn 18..but not watch... :pinkart:

What anime was it? I might have seen it. Anyway, my favorite yaoi right now is Okane Ga Nai. I love Ayase-kun!!!! He is too cute. And also Someya-san, Kuba-san, and Kanou-san!!

My other favorite yaoi is Selfish Mr.Mermaid. It is so cute ad adorable!!

Actually, a lot of the time yaoi mangas are a lot more explicit then yaoi animes because of restrictions on what can be shown on tv, etc. But reading is a different experience then watching. But you'll see just as much;)

Oh, i watched part of okane ga nai. It seemed pretty good to me, but i don't think i've finished it...
