Could this be it?
God Particle

It seems that if the Mayans could predict the end of the World, they would have prevented their own extinction.

Yeah because if someone predicts something, they can always prevent things from happening? Nice logic.

So why didn't they try to prevent it?

And how do you know they didn't? They might have tried but failed, you know not everything you predict can be prevented. I already said this above but you people don't even read earlier posts than the latest.

No, since the 80's it is said that scientists have predicted the world will end or the human race will die over 20 times  I don't see any reason to believe them now, I'm getting fed up with false theories/suggestions.
For example, WHY DO WE NEED TO KNOW HOW LONG IS TAKES FOR CARROT TO MELT IN THE SUN?! They are wasting their time.
"Shall we find out a cure for cancer?"
"No, lets see how long it takes for a cucumber to dissolve in orange juice."

Thank you for saving me the trouble of having to explain all of this:ywave: I was geting worried as i was reading all the post about 2012 and saw that no one was posting anything abouot the "Mayan Calendar" If you guys wanna know more about this whole 2012 thing or the Mayan culture, get a book. And if you've watched the latest Indiana Jone's movie and liked it, you might really wanna get a book about the Gods of Mayan's.
