Accomplishments of 2008

Hey all, this has been coming to mind since the beginning of this month. I've done of a search for this type of thread but I have not found a thing on it.

So any good deeds/accomplishments/what have you for this year?

Here are some of my few:

-Being able to participate in the biggest election in US history
-being able to hold on to my job in this ecomonic age (seriously)
-teaching myself yet another language (apart from the 4 that I'm learning)
-meeting new folks here on JF (cheesy I know but some of the people on this forum have been great:vsign: )

Umm...thats all I can thing of for right now.

So big or small what have YOU accomplished for this year?

Arikado 12-29-2008 11:39 PM

Accomplishments huh...

- Finishing my first semester of college! Alright!
- Learning the entire lead guitar part for Silent Jealousy (X Japan)! Alright!
- Meeting totally awesome people and making a bunch of a friends on JF! Alright!
- Being a really lazy-ass fool and setting the record for getting up as late as 3:30 PM! Alrig- awwww, crap...

Thats so awesome, Arikado. I was tempted to say "see ya" my 1st semester (& this was when I went back to school well after high school...lazy me:o )

Good on ya mate!

Arikado 12-29-2008 11:59 PM

Yup, I'm actually a bit excited about my next semester, which is kind of astonishing, considering I hate school and getting up early, and I have to be up an hour earlier than last semester (which is still gonna suck). The only thing I'm not looking forward to is Calc II and Public Speaking, hahahahah.

koaku 12-30-2008 12:00 AM

My 2008 Accomplishments ..:

-I finished the 1th semester of My 3rd yrs of University in Dublin (Say "Doublin")

- I still have a lot of fun (A LOT ) with someone
-I definitly changed my fashion style (ByeBye Baggy..) :ywave:

For now i just have tht .. lol

Arikado 12-30-2008 12:04 AM

Nice Koaku, but I don't think smoking again should be included, haha.

I also forgot one thing. I started dressing elegant gothic aristocrat, which I've always wanted to do.

reihiino 12-30-2008 12:14 AM

Thats excellent!!!

I forgot to add that I went on vacation by myself for the 1st time this year. To Disneyland. It really wasn't too bad. Although it seemed that almost EVERYONE called to check up on me from time to time. but hey its the thought that counts...right?

Mine is reaching the middle of my back, and I don't plan on getting
a haircut anytime soon, I do need to touch up my roots though.
If I get that done before new years, that'll be an accomplishment.

2008 was a terrible year for me. Nothing out of the ordinary happened and I didn't achieve anything new, really!

There's only two things I guess.

- I got a summer job that noone expected me to get as they required someone that had already finished their Bachelors.
- This same place offered me two permanent positions, which I refused! (Kind of amazing due to the economy right now, and the fact that the company was already letting a couple of people go, Plus it had an amazing starting salary).

Apart from that, I've wasted a lot of time. Due to a huuuuuuge misunderstanding, I ended up cancelling an exchange to Osaka University because the courses they offered for exchange students in English were ridiculous. They had nothing to do with University Math and Science. So I ended up cancelling that exchange which left me in the 2nd year of bachelors even though I passed with flying colours. I didn't go to the third year because they don't offer the course I want at the university I'm at now.

Oh, I guess the only good thing that happened recently is that Oxford University said they will accept me for a Masters course I want to do if I continue to get grades like I have.

TalnSG 12-30-2008 04:46 PM

The major accomplishment of 2008 for me was surviving it:
Totalled my Mazda
Managed not to be fired by my insane boss
Still have almost $20 in the bank (till tomorrow)
Bailed out a friend's business

But what makes me smile are some of the people who have come into my life. The "dorkielittlekoreangirl" who is the only one who can match me shot for shot of soju; the three best sushi chefs in Texas; and the life-long friend who goes home to Tokyo in February (if I don't hold nim hostage).
